Midwest Collectors Fest

Posted by Nicholas PARSONS on

We had a tremendous turnout at our quarterly Midwest Collectors Fest event in Countryside.  This show was highlighted with a rare appearance from 1985 Bears lineman Stefan Humphries.

We had over 120 dealer tables full of great merchandise.  Fans really love this venue.  It's easy to get to, there is ample parking, an ATM on site and a bright, spacious building.  We will work on having a food vendor for the next show or a food truck.  People ask why we don't do more here?  It's simple, we can't get the dates!  I would love to do this show every month.

Unfortunately there was a report of a theft at the show.  I have to encourage dealers to invest in locked display cases.  Make the investment in the All-State aluminum cases with real glass.  Long term this is the way to go.  Even with cameras and private security walking around, people have become brazen when it comes to theft.

That being said, sales for many people were amazing.  I had my best day selling cards in a couple of years.  I surpassed what I do at the large show in Rosemont.  You never know who is coming to a show and ready to spend.  I also picked up some autographed 8x10s, and some 1956 Topps cards that we will send in for grading.

Thank you to everyone who came out to this show!  The next show here is July 27, 2025.  Details to follow!
