February Show Recaps
Posted by Nicholas PARSONS on
Welcome to our first blog post!
I've always loved to write. Taking the lead from the great Tony Gordon who runs the Oak Creek Show and has a great blog. You're probably wondering why anyone would read a blog right? Well, there are several reasons which I will get into very shortly. Anyone who writes knows it can be an outlet. Many times I've wanted to comment on things from our shows and other experiences and this is a much better way than social media posts where things tend to get carried away. Writing I've felt was one of the things that got me through college at a time when professors had to give you merit grades instead of passing you on.
That being said, I hope to do more blog posts for several reasons. 1) To promote the shows we have coming up 2) Give recaps on our shows and other shows we attend and 3) Share things about the hobby 4) Maybe vent here and there about issues facing the show business and the hobby in general
So without further ado here we go!
February 2nd show in Bridgeview was a really great show. We had one of our largest turnouts to date. We are pretty proud of the fact that "our nice little show" as another now out of business promoter called can draw the crowds we do. I think its a great mix of vendors who come from all over the Midwest, the variety of items they have, our great autograph guests and the fact we are one of a few companies that spend money on advertising. Long gone are the days where a Facebook post gets any tractions, Meta wants you to spend money. Our autograph guests were great. This was the second time Neal Cotts was there and he outsold the first the time. Geoff Blum who was a 2005 World Series hero is a great guest. Both guys were awesome with the fans. Bobby Douglass was awesome as well. Thanks to CSAC for bringing him in.
I set up in Janesville and will have a post about that as well. Come out to our big show the Midwest Collectors Fest in Countryside on February 16th. We have 130 sold out vendor tables!
